Dr Angela Evans is a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with twenty years experience in NHS Child and Family Mental Health Services and in private practice.
She is a member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists and she trained at the Tavistock Clinic, London after fifteen years of professional teaching practice.
An experienced clinical practitioner in psychotherapy for children, adolescents and young adults, she offers both brief and long-term work with individuals up to twenty-five. She also works with parents and families, helping them to work through a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.She specialises in Looked After Children but works with a wide range of issues with all children and young people and has extensive experience in supervising psychotherapists and counsellors. She consults to fostering agency managers and staff. She has been a visiting lecturer at Tobias School of Art and Therapy, where she is currently an external examiner.
Angela Evans is an experienced and effective trainer, delivering courses specifically aimed at improving mental wellbeing in schools. She presents ‘Managing Trauma and Neurodiversity in Schools‘ a series of courses focused on different age groups. These courses address the impact of trauma and neurodiversity on student learning and on the overall functioning of schools, offering highly effective solutions for the challenges they create. Together with both Shirley Clarke (one of the UK’s leading formative assessment specialists) and Kate Moss (an exceptional primary school leader) she has co-authored and presents ‘Reducing Anxiety in Our Schools‘, a training course for all class teachers, SENDCOs and school leaders, exploring the emotions and giving powerful practical strategies for managing the high level of anxiety in the school environment.
In addition to her clinical, consulting and educational work Angela is the author of various academic papers and of a series of published articles on family dynamics and parenting issues (available from this website).

She is also co-author of A Manual of Therapeutic Stories for Traumatised Children and Young People.
